Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload media to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. The uploader of any form of media is responsible so that the media does not contain any explicit, harmful and/or hateful content. When you upload any image, you are agreeing that you have the rights to use that image.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Who we share your data with
All information that is given to us will not be sold to any third party for profit. Any information given to us may be viewed by third party’s for,

- Automatic functions, such as a spam filters, that are used for administrative purposes.

These processes are external from the operations at It’s the World, and any information retrieved in this way are not accessible by us, unless the third party is providing a service outlined above.
How long we retain your data
If you chose to leave a comment, that comment along with its associated metadata are retained indefinitely, at the discretion of It’s the World’s administrators. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Any administrator can, at any time, remove any comment submitted to the website if it meets one of the following conditions:
- It is regarded as spam, which includes, but not limited to, advertising
- Contains any address or contact information, including emails addresses, of any individuals or organizations.
- Names of individuals that are not regarded as well known, like music or movie starts, or individuals that have not previously commented on the article being comment on
- Contains explicit, harmful and/or hateful content
For users that register an account on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username, which can not be edited. It’s the World administrators have the ability to see and edit all information within any user account, but will not edit this information. This information can be deleted at the discretion of the account holder.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, and/or have left comments, you can request to receive all the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, which will include the deletion of your account if you hold one. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
